The Agent-General's cablegram, dated London, 28th, says :—Dull sale for all qualities of mutton ; stocks light ond firmly held in a few hands. Average prices to-day:— Canterbury mutton 8-jjd, North Island BAd, River Plate Bgd. Shipments now p raving are very small. Lamb market is dull. Canterbury •lid, other brands 2|-d. Supplies of home grown lambs are heavy, and are lowering prices of New Zealand lambs. Beef market, weak. New Zealand hinds, 3Jd ; fores, 2fd Supplies of American chilled beef are large, Supplies of River Plate beef are increasing. Butter is firm. Canadian, 108s. Cheese is steady ; Canadian, 475. Hemp is firm, and in better demand-. Light shipments are expected. "Fair current Manila, 1 grade on spot, £38 10s ; " Good fair Wellington." £i) 0; November and December shipments, £28 10s,
