The Palmerston Catholic School.

[Ocmmunicated,] The Catholic school will be opened on Monday, the 3rd of March, and is to be held m the Church, the sanctuary being screened. off. We may state that no attempt will be made at proselytism, and children of nonCatholic parents will, be even compelled to retire during any religious instruction that may from time to time be given, except they have the express permission of both parents (m writing) to remain during such instruction. It is unnecessary to say more on this subject, as the character of Catholic schools, convents, colleges, and seminaries is well known, and the public who know them have unbounded confidence m them. The instruction will be so arranged as to suit. the various callings children may intend* to follow m after-life, and parents would do well to consult from time to time the Bey. Father McManus on the subjects to which they wish their children's attention specially directed. Miss Flood, who is to take charge of the school, is an exceedingly accomplished lady, being brought up m the convent almost from her infancy. Although young she has had wide experience m school management, haying taught m the convent for over six years, the latter four of which were devoted to the High School. The following extras will also be taught : — French, music, and elementary drawing and painting, and we hear that Miss Flood, having been eight years on the continent, is quite at home m French, plays music, sacred and profane, at first sight, &c, In a word, all the advantages of a rare, thorough convent education can be obtained without the expense of boarding, and if, by and by the; number of children warrant it an assistant teacher will be obtained, and neither time, trouble, nor expense will be spared to advance the children, and give the parents satisfaction.
