A JOCKEY DISPUTE.

Ckristehurch, Feb. 27. Den-itt, the jockey, to-day sued Mr H. P. Lance for £100 damages for wrongful dismissal. The evidence showed that Derritt had been engaged by Messrs Robinson and Lance (who are partners) as their first horseman, at £100 at year fee till July 31,1884, and was discharged on November 5, just before the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting, had received £400, and that he claimed a fifth of the prizes. Plaintiff was nonsuited, on the ground that the contract was made with Mr Robinson.
