The Land Board torday unani« mousiy refused to issue licenses to the purchasers of the pastoral deferred payment sections m the t'ou.th Taieri, on the ground that the declarations made by them to the effect that the land was for their own exclusive use and benefit were false. T^e Board also instructed the Chief Commissioner to take the necessary proceedings to recover from Messrs Gellibrand and Co the penalties due for illegally depasturing
