TO THOBEDITOB. Sib, —^Permit me through your columns to 'draw the attention of our County, authprities to the spoilation bf "part.of our liighway known as Eangifcikei line, the side of which ,is being carted away wholesale from, below the Mangonie bridge.' One person has been carting from there; for fcwoi years "to my knowledge, and selling the stuff all over Palmerston at 1 5s and 6s a load for building chimniea. The same person has done a good deal of making up about his house out of the same place ; but I was really surprised incoming along the line^ on Friday last to see the person with horse and cart, apparently forming roads through, his private property' from ;the place m question. Now, Mr Editor, I think tkafc is going rather far, especially when you consider that the offender was chairman of our late Highway reform meetings on the line. As lam well aware no apology is required from me for dealing with so important a subject, I remain, yours faithfully, . ■ '■ ■ ' : ''■.'■'■- ' : : -'- .:■ ; - . ■ . •; Q,vjz.
