On Thursday last it was reported that a woman named See, residing at the western end of the township had poisoned herself. When the neighbors came upon the scene she was suffering acutely from burning pain m the stomach, while the. whole frame was agitated by muscular twitchings. She had apparently taken some irritating substance into the stomach, but her statemeuts as to what the substance was were somewhat conflicting. Dr. Akers was summoned and remained m attendance the greater part of the day. Under his care the symptoms gradually abated, and by the afternoon the patient was reported convalescent. The matter will probably be the subject of police enquiry. The long promised visit of the Lydia Howarde Troupe is about to bo made.
