CORSO ORGANISATION
At a meeting held in the Church ot Christ, Campbell Street, on Thursday night, two talkie films “Naples is a Battlefield” and “In tne Wa.ke of the Armies,” were shown by Mr Glover, illustrating the work Unrra is doing to alleviate the suffering of millions of starving and disease-ridden people in Europe. Mr A. D. Lowe, Corso representative of the Council of Churches, Wellington, outlined the aims and objects of Corso, and the need for the establishment of a live local committee to assist Unrra in the relief and rehabilitation of disposessed and hungry multitudes without discrimination as to race, creed or political belief. Pastor G. Fretwell presided at the meeting and moved the following resolution, seconded by Rev. R. Warnock, secretary of the Ministers’ Association: - “That it be a recommendation from this meeting to His Worship the Mayor that he call a meeting of all organisations in the city associated with Corso, with a view to the appointment of a local committee to further the work of Unrra and Corso.” This was carried unanimously-
