By returning the best card amongst 80 entrants, at Hokowhitu on Saturday R. S. Shand and Mrs M. A. Eliott won the J. R. Galloway Memorial Cups, which are competed for annually by members of the Manawatu Golf Club. The course was in excellent condition, 'ihe best cards were: R S. Shand and Mrs Eliott, 6 up; L. F. Speechley and Mrs Morrison. John Cooper and Mrs B. Clarke, 3 up; L. Corkill and Miss A. Nash, V. Oliver and Mrs Adam, J. G. Dunlop and Mrs M. Evans, E. R. Chapman and Mrs E. R. Wimsett. A. E, Bugden and Mrs J. Cliff, C. 13. How and Miss Anderson, all 1 up.

A single stableford match resulted: —D. VV. Spring, 38pts; L. Corkill, 35; E. J. Astin, 34; V. Oliver, 33.
