OBITUARY
The death occurred in the Palmerston North Hospital on August 16 ot Mrs K. A. M. Dixon at the age of 73 years, writes the "Manawatu Standard's" Rongotea correspondent. Born at Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia, the fourth daughter of the late Mr and Mrs C. Brown, at fin early ago she came with the family to New Zealand, residing iirst at Wangaiiui, and then moving to the Foxton district. Her marriage to Mr P. W. Dixon, of Palmerston North, took place in 1899. They •later went farming in the Utuwai district and moved to Rongotea in 1907. Mr Dixon passed away some years ago, and Mrs Dixon resided there till her death. Quiet and unassuming in disposition, she lived a life of genuine service in her home and the neighbourhood, taking an active part in the social affairs of the community and a particularly lively interest in the Carnarvon School, and the Anglican Church. She is survived by her four sons, Messrs Jack (Rongotea). Norman (Palmerston North), Hugh (Rongotea), and Harold (Wanganui), also two daughters, Mrs 11. D. Carrington (Rongotea) and Mrs E. h. Ingram (Ohakea). 'there are 15 grandchildren. The funeral was largely attended, services being conducted in the Anglican Church, and at the graveside by Rev, N. S. Barnett.
