R.S.A. AND ALIENS.

Sir, —When I read the report that at tlie recent annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Services Association a resolution was carried urging the deportation of renigees to tneir ow u countries witn the same amount ot money as they had when they entered tiio Dominion, i wondered whether 1 was reading an obsolete German fascist paper or whether it all,happened in God’s own country, New' Zealand. 1 came to this country as a refugee from Austria five years ago and have been in the Royal New Zealand Air force for nearly two years. Wearing the King’s unilorui and thinking that 1 am doing all I can to help to figut this malignant tendency of the k’l/tli century human being, tlie tendency towards Fascism, Lam bitterly disappointed to find that those people who have actively fought Fascism—-not all of them by their own free will—and obviously many of them without knowing what Fascism actually is—take up an attitude right here in New Zealand that is so very much akin to the very ideas they have been lighting against overseas.

To me the only difference between the morality of expulsion of refugees from New Zealand and the confiscation of their property and the establishment of concentration camps, with all their horrors, in Germany, is merely of a geographical nature. —Tours, etc., H. LOEB, JLt.N.Z.A.F. Depot, Remuera.
