FARM EMPLOYMENT

“The Department of Labour is there to give” advice to persons who seek it, and to help employers in the interpretation of all recent legislation covering employment,” stated Mr R. J. Weir, district inspector for the department, in an address to students at Massey College last night. Mr Weir dealt mainly with legislation and awards as covering agricultural workers and their annual holidays and general conditions, as well as the liability of employers in cases of accident. A vote of thanks, moved by Mr H. B. Low, who presided, was carried.
