ALL SAINTS' HOME

The year had been a difficult ono through lack of staff, stated tho annual report of (ho All Saints' Children's Home Board, presented at the annual meeting on Tuesday evening. Rev. 11. \V. Mouaghan prosided. Continuing; the report stated' that tho matron (Miss Bcllingham) and Miss Wallace, assisted by Ira Brooks (housegirl) had carried the heavy burden of extra work most cheerfully and the committee's thanks were duo to them. Owing to necessary repairs at the homo and the Brown House, tho expenditure had exceeded tho income. The annual egg drive had realised more than over before from schools and neighbouring parishes. Because of the rationing of goods and shortages, gifts had not been so numerous. The children had enjoyed an excellent holiday at the Brown House and thanks wore duo to Messrs Radcliffc, Shore and Schaw for many kindnesses. Regret was expressed at the resignations of Canon and -Mrs Woodward, also Miss K. Owtram, and appreciation of their valued services was placed on record. Mosdatnos L. M. Abraham and K. C Clayton had been added to the committee. Tho balance-sheet, presented by Mr H. G. Bagnall, showed a deficit of over £3Ol on the year's working. It was agreed that, efforts should be made during tho year to secure more public support. The Mayor (Mr Mansford) stressed the nerd for making both ends meet in (his and coming years. Mr Monaghan. said the home was a credit to all concerned and compared most favourably with any other home he had seen. Nothing concerned with All Saints' had given him greater satisfaction, tho speaker said, as he felt it was a homo in every sense. The officers elected were: President, Rev. H. W. Monaghan; vice-presidents, Rov. F. S. Ramson, Mr A. E. Mansford, and tho church wardens (Messrs O. Monrad and 11. G. Bagnall cx-oflicio); trustees, re-elected with the addition of Messrs E. R, Dale and IT. K. McKay. Messrs L. G. Call is and H. G. Bagnall were re-elected secretary and treasurer respectively, and

Mr R. Tait auditor. On behalf of the trustees, Mr L. M. Abraham paid tribute to (ho untiring efforts of the ladies' comiilitt.CC, a similar compliment being paid (0 (ho matron and slalf by Mr t.'allis. and the work of Mrs A. A. Langlcy as sccreiary of the ladies' committee, was eulogised'by Mrs Field.
