RECOVERING PRISONERS
LANCASTERS IN GERMANY. (Rec. 12.10 p.m.) RUGBY, May 8. R.A.F. Lancasters landed in Germany for the first time this afternoon to bring back freed prisoners of war. Some 4500 men were flown to England. More than 350 tons of food were dropped in Holland during the afternoon.—Official Wireless.
