LIBERATED AUSTRALIANS
MELBOURNE. May 8.
More than 1000 Australian prisoners of war liberated in Europe had reached England by air up to the end of last week the Acting-Minister for the Army (Senator Eraser) has reported. Others arc arriving at the rate of 100 a day. The general condition of the men so far has been surprisingly good, only 20 requiring hospital treatment. Most of these cases have been due to'undernourishment. Shipping arrangements have been completed and it is anticipated that the movement of repatriated men from England to Australia will commence very soon.
