The Government taxes in connection witn the Otaki races amount to nearly £4OOO. made up as follows: —Totalisator duty, £1844 16s; dividend duty, £1613 16s: stake duty. £2l 15s; amusement tax, £39 12s 3d.. The children's health camp at Otaki is presenting an attractive appearance, having been painted and improved generally. Some 130 children are at present under the caro of Matron Hodges.
