CHILDREN'S WEEK
A children's week, Jicld at the Cuba Street Methodist Church from Tuesday to Friday, has proved highly successful in every way. The activities were under the general direction of Rev. C. T. Svmons, M.A., 8.D., Senior Youth Director of the Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. H. L. Ficbig and a number- of helpers. Morning sessions were conducted in the hall, Mr Svmons speaking to the children in an informative manner on the four subjects, "God creates; God speaks; God saves; God keeps." The talks wore illustrated in various pictorial ways, and tho main portion of the session was devoted to expression work done by , the children in demonstration of each address. Modelling, crayon work, poster ; drawing, and painting provided interesting avenues ot expression to the 60 children who attended. In the afternoons organised games and races wore enjoyed at Takaro Park. Film strips of the morning sessions were taken to be used in demonstrntior. ol the various activities and rncthods employed. In the evenings, Mr Svmons spoke to tho Sunday school teachers on the sub ; ject of "Preparation for Teaching," and to parents on the theme of "Religion and the Home." the use of films being a great aid in these addresses. Mr Symons will draw the week's activities to a clos6 on Sunday. In the morning a family service will be held in commemoration of Mothers' Dav, and in the evening, with the aid 'of still films, ho will illustrate modern successful methods of work among children and young people in the Butterworth Mission in London.
