TO HELP YUGOSLAVS

MORE WAR MATERIALS

(Rec. 9.53 a.m.) RUGBY, April 18. Allied deliveries of war materials to the Yugoslav Liberation Army will be greatly increased. This .statement, according to the periodical Novo Yugoslavia, lias been made by Brigadier Maclean, chief of the British Military Mission to Marshal Tito.

"During the last *jw months," writes Brigadier Maclean, "thousands of tons of war material and equipment have been sent by the Allies to Yugoslavia. Not a day passes without the Allied air forces attacking military objectives and troop concentration* in the country. When I arrived in Yugoslavia I soon discovered that the Yugoslav liberation movement represented a strong power, not only in the political but also in the military sphere. The Yugoslav Army of Liberation is much stronger than is generally assumed abroad and- under the outstanding leadership of Marshal Tito, a powerful army, well disciplined and organised, has been put into the field and has at its disposal many military leaders, who in actual fighting have gained excellent experience. "Marshal Tito lias proved himself not only a military commander but also a political leader, rallying around him the best elements from all the peoples of the country," According to the Free Yugoslav radio Slovene units of the Yugoslav Army of Liberation killed 2651 of the enemy, wounded a further 3285 and took 69 prisoners during March. —Official Wireless.
