LONDON, Oct. 8

A Flying Fortress which was recentlv on its way back to England after ilying over Northern France was attacked hv a force of about. 30 German aircraft. It shot down two enemy planes and landed safely, although two of its engines had been put out of action and more than 300 bullets had penetrated its wings.
