TAXI DRIVER’S INJURJY
(Press Assn.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 9 A taxi-driver, Mr D. Smith, received hospital treatment after midnight for a head injury allegedly caused by a blow on the back of the bead from a man whom lie had driven from Karangahapc Road to Bowen Avenue. When struck, Mr Smith bumped against the car door and fell on the roadway, the car careering down Bowen Avenue and running into a lamp standard. The victim staggered to the footpath and was assisted by a passing airman to t lie police station. After the hospital treatment lie proceeded home. Nothing more was seen of the assailant.
