W.W.S.A. ENTERTAINS

The members of the district committee of the W.W.S.A. were hostesses at a function for members of the auxiliary and representatives of tho Services in the Technical School Hall. The guests were welcomed by Miss C. Warburton (district chairman) and Mrs J. Walker (deputychairman). An interesting programme of items was arranged, commencing with songs by the W.W.S.A. singing group, with Mrs H. Prince at the piano, followed by vocal solos by Miss N. Robertson. A team from the physical exercises group, directed by Miss L. Weston, gave a display, and an enjoyable item was a sketch produced by Miss J. Judd, those taking part being Misses M. Henry, M. Scott, L. Weston, Duff and Judd. The final item was a short floor display by a drill squad directed by Ser-geant-Major A. W. Chapman, which finished with a parade of flags of the Empire and her Allies, concluding before the stage with the singing of Kipling’s “Recessional.” Supper was served by the divisional leader, Airs J. H. Whyte, Mrsdames S. G. Northcy, and S. J. Parkes, company loaders, and members of the canteen section. Among the guests were the 3 lay or and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs Mans ford). Major-General N. Weir, Colonel" Clarke, Colonel and Airs J. Mewett, Lieutenant and Mrs H. W. Mullanev, Mr J. Hodgcns, M.P., Mr and Mrs* G. A. Eliott, Mrs E. W. Mills and Mr IT. M. Scott.
