BENGHAZI ATTACKED AXIS SHIP BLOWS "UP LONDON, Sept. 23. United States bombers heavily attacked Benghazi yesterday and scored hits on two ships, one of which blew up and iho other was set on fire. After dark R.A.F. forces took a part and pounded the harbour. All of the planes returned to their bases.
Commenting on the British desert raid a correspondent in Cairo says that when the full story can be told it should be a memorable one. The raid must have been a knock for the Germans, coming just when they were regrouping their forces for the next attack.
Tho Official Wireless quotes a Middle East headquarters message which announces that during Monday night our patrolling activities were continued. Enemy patrols and working parties were engaged and harassed and a few prisoners taken. Yesterday there were artillery exchanges in the southern sector.
