AXIS PLANE DESTROYED

(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 23. R.A.F. fighters destroyed an enemy fighter over the English Channel Reporting the R.A.F. attacks on Northern France on Tuesday, the Air Ministrv says that bombers attacked industrial objectives in the Lille and areas. The power station at Mazingarbe and the port of Veudin were among the targets hit. Other bombers attacked the iron and steel works at Ymuiden. Hits were seen on the target and fires were started. —Official Wireless.
