FRENCH SAILORS EXECUTED

VICHY, Mar. 24.

Two French sailors have been executed at Oran for attempting to divert their ship passing through the Straits of Gibraltar in order to give it to the British. A third man was sentenced bv court-martial to 10 vears pena servitude. The sailors fired four shots at the captain, who was wounded, and the sailors temporarily gained control of the ship, but the captain succeeded in escaping from the bridge and giving orders to the engineroom. The sailors plans were finally defeated by the intervention of escort ships.
