PATRIOTIC SHOP

Last week the first three days at the patriotic shop were taken by the Palmerston North Girls Guides’ Association, with Mrs G. A. Elliott in charge. Their receipts were £l4 5s sd. For the latter part of the week the Salvation Army (Mrs .T. Penketh) had the shop, receipts being £7 16s 4d, making the total for the week £22 11s 9d. Sliopliblders were unfortunate that it was a very wet week, which retarded tho usual business. Thanks arc due to the ladies who staffed the shop and to tho 'public for support. This week the Leaguo of Mothers has the shop, and Mrs S. J. Parkes is visitor for the shop committee..
