Trustee I>. G. Gower was in the chair at a meeting’ of the Man a wain Kabbil Board. The secretary s action in starting Scheme 13 work was endorsed. The inspector- (Mr D. 11. Barron) reported:—! have been engaged in the general inspei lion of properties, more especially in re gat'd to the second strychnine carrot poisoning. The weather during the latter halt of the month has again not been suitable for this class of work and it_ has been held up to a great extent. The benefit of an early start on this poisoning is n-ow showing its effect. The land is naturally in splendid order for fumigation work, and this lias been done on a number of properties inspected, will to on others further requests for this class of work have been made. Permission lias been oblaincd from the Department of Agriculture to again carry out Scheme 13C in tne boartl’s area, and circulars notifying farmers of the full details have been sent out and work on the scheme will begin on the 20th insr. Two men arc available. There has not been so much clearing of weeds put in hand during the past month owing, no doubt, to farmers being busy with spring work and a number of requests for this class of activity have been sent out. 'I he second poisoning in the Forestry Reserve at Tangimoana will be completed soon.
