COMING LEGISLATION
TAX ANOMALY MEASURE. RIVER EROSION BILL. (Special.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 2. Some of the Government’s legislation for this session is expected to make its appearance in the House of Representatives next week. The measures are likely to ho a Finance Bill and a Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill. it is also possible that the River Erosion Bill, which has been under consideration bv a Parliamentary select committee for some time, may be brought down during the week. Among other measures likely to make an early appearance, although probably not next week, is a War Damages Bill, to which reference was made by the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) earlier in the year; and the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill, designed to cure existing anomalies in the taxation system. Modern Finance Bills often contain important policy changes, but it is understood that tho coming measure will not be of this character, but will be more of a machinery nature.
