OLD PUPILS’ DANCE.

XGA TAW A AND CHRIST'S COLLEGE. The dance conducted by the Nga Tawa School Old Girls’ Association and the Christ’s College Old Roys’ Association, last evening, in the Little Theatre proved a great success. Enthusiastic members had come from 1 many parts of the district and numerous dinner parties were held prior to the dance. The music was played by a professional orchestra. The hosts and hostesses were Mr C. G. Moore, president of Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association, and Mis Moore, Mr A. E. R. Joblin and Mrs Joblin, the latter l>cing president of the Nga Tawa Old Girls’ Association. Mrs Joblin wore | black flowered taffeta with rose corj sage; and Mrs (Moore cream crinkled floral chiffon with matching eoatSe Other committee members were Mrs A. - Guy, in almond green cloque ; Mrs G. Wilson, gipsy striped chiffon; Mrs K. Biss, wine coloured crepe; Miss A. Kapiev magnolia . angel skin frock j with diamante clips: Miss It. Gillies, : black and parchment embossed satin; ; Miss M. Matthews, midnight blue veli vet with silvery, white fur coat; i Messrs D. K. Guv, A. H. Guy, 0. Ban- ! dal, M. R. G. Moore. K. A. Golding- : ham, P. Harvey. J. H. Kissling and i H. T. Harman. Tho secretarial duties I were admirably carried out by Miss Matthews and Mr Harman. The hall was very attractive with cream walls and green velvet hangings, the shields of the two schools holding pride of place, and the stage was effectively decorated with pink blossom and greenery, a border of pink and white camellias being an unusual touch. A savoury supper was served, buffet style, oil the stage from long (ablcs which were decorated with bowls of pink and white camellias. Following their usual custom of donating the funds to a worthy cause, the joint committee has voted the profits to the minesweepers’ comforts fund, which should be appreciably augmented.
