ST. DAVID'S CHURCH.
The annual meeting of the members of St. David's I'rcsbytcrian Church was hold this week, when the moderator (Rev. K. 11. Spencc, AI.A.) presided. In presenting the report'of the session, the clerk (Mr J. j Stevenson) congratulated (he congregation on maintaining the strength of their work, but pointed out the need ot increased in- , tnrest by the congregation in the youtn work. Thanks were expressed to the ( P.W.M.U., the guild, the Sunday school staff, organists and thoimiabK . ami f tributo was paid to the work of Rev. \\ . 11. Nicholas and Airs Nicholas, and also to those who suppliod the pulpit during the illness of Mr Nicholas. The manager's icport, presented by Air R. Hutching-- (secretary), showed that considerable work had been accomplished during the year and, while mainly of routine character, showed that the managers were alive to tlio needs of the chuich and its work. ihe treasurer (Mr It. Irwin), in presenting the balance-sheet, showed a credit balance of £46 17s, but pointed out that the greater part of this uouid bo absorbed in necessary expenditure in the next few months. Reports of the P.W.M.U. guild, Sunday school and Busy Bees showed that these organisations were doing active and effective work. The Jiible classes were in abeyance at present. AllNicholas proposed a vole of thanks to those who in so many ways had loya.ly worked so hard during the past year to uphold the Gospel and the tradition of the Presbyterian Church in Woodville. The following resolutions were brought before the meeting and unanimously carried : That the plan outlined before the managers for repairs aid renovations to the church and manse bo carried out. That the scheme of reorganisation of the finances be endorsed. That an increase be granted to the minister for car allowance. That the charge remain in its present status till such time as an increased area or finances shall warrant anatlv.wco,
