WEDDING.

AIcFAVEN—FRANCIS. A pretty wedding took place at All Paints’ Church, Palmerston North, on Wednesday, Jupo 11, 1941, when youngest daughter of Air and Airs G. If. Francis, of Longburn, was married to lan Henry Valentine, eldest son of Mr and Airs J; J.'MeKwen, of r<ongbnrii. Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward officiated. To the strains of the hymn “The Voice That, Breathed O’er Eden.” the bride entered the. church on her father s arm looking very charming in a slim-fitting gown of magnolia satin with a V neckline finished with two pearl ornaments on the shoulders. Iho back panel of the skiifc fell into a graceful train, and the veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of winter roses, erica and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Aliss Joyce Francis, whoso cornflower blue taffeta gown was cut on slim lines, with a full skirt,. Iler bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fern Jhe flower-girls wero June Kennard and Alaisio Palmer, cousins of the bridegroom, "no wero attired in blue georgette frock with blue caps trimmed with little pink roses, and carried posies of erica and pink roses. The duties of best man were carried out bv tho bridegroom’s brother, Air Kenneth AicKwcn. As tho bridal party left the church the bride was presented with a white floral horseshoe by her little niece a nd nephew, Judith llaley and Gary' irtancis. respectively. . Tho reception was held in the Longburn Hall, where Mr and Mrs Francis, assisted hv Mr and Airs AlcEwen, received the guests. Airs Francis wore a blue frock, maw coat, hat, and accessories; and Airs AlcEwen wore a black frock, coat and accessories. Each had a shoulder spray of daphne and violets. , r r Air and Airs I. AlcEwen later left lor Auckland. The bride travelled m a rust two-piece suit and coat, with navy acccs sories. Sho also wore a skunk fur a present from the bridegroom. 1 hey will make their future home at Longburn.
