(Hoc. 1.20 p.m.) IUIGJ3Y, May (SO. Further widespread bombing operations in the Mediterranean theatres of war are described in the R.A.F. -Middle East communique. This states that long-range fighters oi the R.A.F. on patrol over the Mediterranean between Crete and the North African coast destroyed yesterday one Dornicr and • one Junkers 88. Other enemy aircraft were so badly damaged that they were unlikely to be able to reach their base.
In Iraq a very successful machinegun attack was carried out oil the Baquba aerodrome by our aircraft during which a number of Caproni 42 s and other aircraft were rendered unserviceable. Rebel motor- transports south of Fallujah were heavily bombed and numerous sorties made in support of our troops advancing on Bagdad. None of our aircraft is missing from these operations.
