RANGITIKEI
An increase in the number of births, deaths and marriages for May, compared with the corresponding period of last year, is revealed in the vital statistics for Marton There were 10 births against 13 last year and three deaths compared with two in May, 1940. The number of marriage licenses issued was live, in comparison with four last Alay. In the Alarton Home Guard Guardsman P. AI. Friedrich is promoted to sergeant and Guardsmen A. AI. Howard and (J. Gower to corporal. The resignation of (ho Plunkct nurse at Alarton (Aliss Richmond) _ owing to illhealth, was accepted with regret at a ■special meeting o (the Alarton branch of the Plunkct Society.
