WILLARD HOME

Members of the Willard Home board of management and numerous friends met in the social room of the home on .May 21 to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the founding of the homeThe Mayor (Mr A. E. Eaton and Mrs Eaton, Rev. G. R. Stirling and .Mrs Stirling, Mr and Mrs E. JOakley, Mr and Mrs C. E. Taylor, Mr and .Mrs C. F. Spooner, Mr and .Mrs L. ]. Plimmer, Mr and Mrs 11. C. Sturm. Mr and Mrs 1). J. Lovelock, Mr and Mrs C. C. Aikman, Mr and Mrs A. E. Rick in. .Mr and Mrs W. F. Field, Air and Airs R. Port, Alesdanies E. C. Barnett and A. Dorreen, .Misses Owtram and Al. Cranston. The .Mayor expressed gratitude lor the liberal help that had been extended to the home by donors, and invited a continuance of the same practical interest. A number of boys who passed through the home were now on active service, these being .Messrs Archibald and Reginald Reid, Frank and Phillip Brookes. Gordon Ozanne, Jack Gray, and Dick and Claude Ozanne, the last two being at present in camp. A number of girls were married and had good homes. Congratulations were offered by the president (Airs E. A. Collins) to the matron on her recent marriage to Air Walter Loet and .Mr Loot was thanked for his willingness to allow the present association of the matron with the home fo continue.

At the last anniversary, said Airs Collins, there were 27 children in the home. Of these 14 left to go to relatives and 11 were admitted during the year. In addition to these 19 temporary cases were in the home lor various reasons, sickness of the mother being the most frequent cause, and these children were kept for periods varying from a few weeks to several months. After the singing of the National Anthem the Atayor addressed the assemblage on the work of the home, and paid a special tribute to the worth of the matron. Airs \V. Loet. This was followed with brief speeches by members of the advisory hoard, and Rev. AV. AL Garner and Rev. A. H. Finlay. Afnster Diulleigh Afarehant returned! thanks to all on behalf of the children of the home. Prayer and benediction i by Air Garner brought the proceedings to a close and the senior girls of the home served afternoon tea.
