WEDDINGS

GREEN—JENKINS. The marriage was solemnised in All Saints’ Gtiuren, Palmerston North, on Saturday evening, Alay 10, at 0.30 o’clock, of Nancy Elizabeth, younger daughter of the late Air and Airs E. Jenkins, of Alarton, and bamuel Logan, younger son of Air and Airs A. W. Green, of Hamilton. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Canon Woodward and the organist was Air J. Holmes Runniclcs. The titianliaired bride, who was given away by her uncle, Air 11. L. Gower, of Alarton,' was gowned in exquisite oyster satin cut on classical lines, the long train and corselet being heavily appliqucd in rose design. Her dainty embroidered veil of Brussels lace, lent by Airs H. K. Spencer, a cousin of tile bride, was caught in place with a cluster ol cream chrysanthemums, and a sheaf of cream carnations, rose buds, chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern completed a charming picture.

The bridesmaids, Aliss Patricia Sherriff. chief, aml Aliss Joyce Gower, both of Alarton, wore dainty ice-blue organza gowns with swathed bodices and billowing skirts. Their shower bouquets of cyclamen, chrysanthemums, and carnations had long trailers of maidenhair fern and cyclamen and their blue net veils were caught in place with a cluster of cyclamen. The best man was .Mr F. B. Sill, of Palmerston North, and .Private D. Smith, of Feilding (now oi Trentham), was groomsman. The usher's wore .Messrs L. Kuthorf uril, of Feilding, and I’. Pierce, of To Kuiti.

At the reception, which was given by Air and Airs JL L. Gower, of Alarton, .Mrs Gower, aunt of the bride, received the guests in a charming gown of silver and cyclamen lamoe, with a shoulder spray of violets anil maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's mother, Airs A. AV. Green, of Hamilton, wore a handsome gown ol blue moire taffeta with a shoulder spray ol rosebuds and maidenhair fern. For travelling the bride chose a smart black model frock and hat with a beige swing coat anil black accessories. ’llie bridegroom, who was formerly on the staff at .Massey College, recently obtained his Al.Agr.Sc. and is now in camp at Trentham preparatory to going overseas. The briual bouquets and shoulder sprays were made by Aliss Joyce Gower, of Alarton, cousin ol the bride.

CARR ETHERS— SLATTERY. A pretty wedding was solemnised at Saint Patrick’s Church, Palmerston North, on Easter Alonday, the contracting parties being Alargaret Alarion (Alohy), eldest daughter of Air and Airs AV. Slattery, Konguteu, and Aircraftsman Jan Robert Carruthers, of Ohakea. A’erv Rev. Alonsignor AlacAlanus officiated and celebrated Nuptial Aiass. Aliss Bartlett presided at the organ and, during the mass, a friend ol the bride. Aliss Dorothy Alathcson, sang an "Ave Alaria.” The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiiul gown ol magnolia satin, eitL oil classical lines, with high neck-line and tiny sell-cov-ered buttons from the back oi the neck-line to the waist, the skirt lading very lull to form a train appliqued with needlenin lace. The beaulieal embroidered tulle veil (lent by the bridegroom’s sister) was held in place by a. cluster of Esther Reads daisies and nertnes, and her only ornament was a triple string ol pearls, a gift from the bridegroom, which completed a charming toilette. Her shower bouquet was of white carnations, ncrines, and Esther Reads daisies with streamers of maidenhair lorn. The bride was attended by two maids—Aliss Betty Keating' (chief) and Aliss Kathleen .Slattery (sister ol the bride). Both wore I rocks of turquoise georgette, made with lull skirts, with a bustle bow, puli' sleeves, and heartshaped necklines. With wreaths of pink nerines, chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern in their hair, 1 hey carried bouquets of similar llowers. Ihe bouquets were kindly made by an old Irienil of the bride's family, Airs A\ . Davis, llongotea. The best man was Corporal A. Thomas, Ohakea, and the groomsman Trooper Al. Slattery (brother ol the bride). The reception was held at the Jade tearooms, where All's .Slattery received the guests wearing a teal coat with tan accessories. Her shoulder spray was in autumn shades. A beautiiul threetiered cake, made and given by the bride’s aunt,, Airs C. AlcDonell, Alarton, held pride of place at the bridal table. The bridal couple left, later for the South Island, the bride travelling in a teal-green tailored costume, with a mulberry toque and accessories to tone.
