AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE

Air W. H. Biown presided at a meeting of the executive of the Alanawatu Automobile Association last evening Also present were Alessrs T. Al. N. Rodgers, E. R. B. Holben, T. R, Lees, W. J. Amies, C. S. Lawson, R. J. Mclver, C. It. Murphy, H. N. Rowe, E. S. Oliver, and Dr. F. G. Scott.

Congratulations were extended to Mr A. E. Alansford (patron) on being elected Mayor and to Mr Lees on his election to the City Council. Mr Murphy and Mr W. B. Tenncnt were also congratulated on the sportsmanlikeway in which they had taken their defeat.

Letters of appreciation were received from Alessrs A. H. At. Wright (Wellington), C. ‘Tunnicliffe (Palmerston North), and C. W. Hedges (Wellington) for assistance received from officers of the association.

The chairman mentioned that the ration of petrol would not be reduced if the number of tankers coming to New Zealand was not reduced. Fifty new members were elected.

The signposting committee reported that the sign at Seqbury Avenue (Foxton) which had been interfered with during the Easter holidays had been re-erected.
