LATEST LONDON RAID

(Rec. 11.20 a.in.) RUGBY, .May 13. An Air Ministry and Ministry of Home Security communique says: A few bombs were dropped in places in South-West England, East Anglia and elsewhere last night. Little damage was done and the total number of casualties is small. One enemy aircraft is known to have been destroyed.

SAYING BRITISH PILOTS.

(Rec. 2.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 13. Fighters and bombers are now being equipped with one-man rubber dinghies, carried deflated in parachute packs. The pilot descends in his parachute and pulls another cord on reaching the water, releasing the dinghy with a bottle of carbon dioxide for inflating it. A Washington message says: Plans were discussed to-day between the Mar Department and tlie British Embassy tor the training of British pilots in the United States. American planes and pilots will ho used to give the primary training to possibly 3000 men annually. The scheme will start in midsummer.
