Diplomatic circles in Vichy believe Admiral Darlan, on his visit to Hitler. secured from him an arrangement replacing the armistice which \vcmld liberate Paris and give, the Vichy Government four-fifths of Prance, but retain for Germany the coal and iron mines, all ports on the north and west coasts and all the river mouths. It is believed Admiral Darlan has not yet reported the results to Marshal Petain.
