RIOTING IN RUMANIA
FOOD DECREE OPPOSED. LONDON. May 13
A message from Bucharest says that riots throughout Rumania have occurred following the introduction of two breadless days weekly, and the disorders have induced the Government to cancel its decree.
There have been numerous arrests in restaurants in the Rumanian capital for spreading or listening to rumours.
, A Geneva message says that the Chief of the Rumanian State (General Antoneseu) has threatened to close all universities in Rumania unless the students denounce the anti-German agitators among them. Students singing forbidden patriotic songs on May 10 interrupted the Rumanian national dav celebrations. The food situation in Greece is also alarming, says a Bucharest message. Tile efTorts of the Germans to rally a pro-German Greek party have been unsuccessful. TIME-BOMBS EXPLODED. (10.1 o a.m.) BUCHAREST. May 13. Subversive persons exploded two I time-bombs, damaging a pro-Govern-ment newspaper building.
