Miss Nell Clarke, of Palmerston North, lias returned from a holiday visit to Auckland.
Miss Judith Copeland, of Palmerston North, who is visiting Dunedin, and is the guest of Mrs Oscar Owjus, will later spend a. few days in Christchurch.
Miss P. liindlc, general secretary ot tlio Christchurch 1.W.C.A., and formerly secretary of the Palmerston North Association, was a visitor to the City yesterday on her way to attend the triennial convention in Auckland.
Mrs Jessie Watt, Wanganui's oldest resident, will attain her lOOtli birthday to-morrow. With one short interval she lias resided in that city for 78 years. Blie was born in Glasgow and came to New Zealand in 18(52, soon afterwards marrying the late Mr Andrew Watt.
The Junior National party held a successful dance in tire JLittle Theatre last evening, the attendance being well over 200. Mr lx. Sicilian was ALL. and competition winners were Miss B. larraher and Mr I. Bell (lucky spot), and Miss B. Heath and Mr D. Bong (lucky partners). A Monte Carlo also provided interest. An impromptu dance, organised by the A.N.A. Club in honour ot the moil returned from manoeuvres, was held in Miss Owen Oibbs's studio last evening and was an undoubted success, there being a very large attendance. Committee members present were Mesdames J. H. Whyte,' M. C. McGregor, S. Goldingham, P. Lane, G. M. McCaskill, Misses It. Gillies and I>. Haggit.t. Miss P. King was the principal pianist and some ol the soldiers also played.
