OROUA F)': DEI? ,\rr OX. At a mooting; of the executive of the Oroua Federation of Women’s Institutes, hold at Feilding. Mrs AA’. G. Sliort presided and also present were Mesdames A. I\. Drew. G. B. Gregory, I?. 11. Guthrie, ■I 11. Mason. I*. Simpson, ,f : Sporle. C. M. Stanley, J. G. Gerke and P. IV Stevens. -The two last named were taking their places on the executive for the first time and were welcomed by the president. Apologies for absence came from Mesdames C. Smith and W. E. Baker. The secretary and treasurer (Mrs C. M. ■Stanley and Mrs A. K. Drew respectively') were re-elected: the vice-presidents are Mrs R. H. Guthrie (re-elected) and Mrs G. 13. Gregory; Press correspondent. Mrs .1. H. Mason (re-elected) : the sub-committees were al-o re-elected. Members were notified about the voluntary organisers’ school to be held in Marlon shortly. A date in October was arranged for the hall-yearly council meeting. It was decided to ask permisison to hold n “mystery envelopes’’ competition in aid of patriotic funds. The co-operation of all the institutes in the federation will be sought when all details are completed.— Apiti correspondent.
