CITY COUNCIL ELECTION

Afr TL Salmons, one of the Labour candidates for the City Council, is a. returned soldier, and to-day takes an aetiye part in the Home Guard as a platoon commander and as a member of the Home Guard Sub-Area Committee in -Palmerston North. _ For many years lie has been associated with Friendly Society work as an officer of the Druids’ Lodge.

In the industrial field lie has always played an active part and is the president of the Manawatu General Workers’ Union, as well as being a member of the Trades Council and the Labour Iteprcsentation Committee.

Ho lias been a resident of Palmerston North for some 35 years, having always taken a keen interest in any move for the city’s benefit, and bis election as a member of the City Council should undoubtedly be in the best interests of the electors.—P.B.A.
