Exclusive tif his previous term in the Mayoral chair, Mr Johnston had derved an appren - ticeship of 11 years (at intervals) as a councillor, and there is ample evidence that this training has been applied with great advantage to Woodville. In the matter of representation on the Hospital Board Cr Forbes, tho new member, differs from hid predecessor (Mr (’. Sutton) in that he is a member of tho Borough Council. In regard to representation on the Power Board, the position is unchanged, Mr H. P. Horne having been rc-elceted (unopposed). He has filled it for about 17 yeans — that is. since the inception of the board. Mr Horne, incidentally,, was Mayor of Woodville for the record period of 20 years. On the administrative side tho borough has been fortunate in the length of service of its chief executive officers. Mr D. S. Kray, the present town clerk, is now in his 15th year of office and within a few months of exceeding the record of Mr W. G. Crawford, who held tho por.ition for a little under 15 years. Ad Mr If.
