SUPREME COURT

The quarterly sessions of the Supreme Court were continued yesterday, His Honour Mr Justice Blair presiditig.

William John Wright appeared on re-trial on charges of allegedly indecently assaulting a female. Mr A. M. Onglev appeared for accused who pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Mr F. G. Murphy was foreman of the fury. Tho hearing of evidence was then proceeded with, the Court being cleared for this purpose. The hearing of evidence was continued throughout the day and counsel addressed the jury this morning. The jury returned this afternoon, finding accused guilty on two counts of indecent assault. Accused was remanded for sentence.

ADMITTED TO PROBATION

Kenneth Gordon Hamilton Gdv, for whom Mr Onglcy appeared, and who had pleaded guilty at Pahiatua on March 28 .to a charge of failing to stop after lr.s motor-car had been directly concerned in an accident, was admitted to probation for six months on the usual terms and on a special term that he pay the costs of the nrosceution amounting to £2 os. His driving license was cancelled and he was prohibited from obtaining another one for six months.
