NO POLITICS

HOME GUARD AND E.R.S. (Special:) WELLINGTON, May 13. “I have been informed, whether correctly or not 1 am unable to say, that an attempt is being made to use the Home Guard and the Emergency Precautions Scheme for political purposes,” stated Hon. R. Semple to-day. “This is contrary to the whole purpose of these organisations. I addressed hundreds of meetings to form them and made the point clear that the Commonwealth is engaged in a titanic struggle for liberty. We are all in that. Politics of any sort arcall out, and any attempt to create internal division is a crime of the greatest magnitude. I t:.*ke . this opportunity of advising the rank and file of both organisations to bitterly resent the introduction of politics. Anyone who attempts it is an enemy, not a friend.”
