A wedding of interest to Fcilding people was solemnised by Rev. A. L. IJ.xon at St. Paul's * Presbyterian Church "on .Saturday. April 5, when Vera Margaret, only daughter of Mr and Airs D. Whisker, was united in marriage to Robert Coburn, only son of -Mr R. H. Parker and the late -Mrs Parker, of Pongaroa, Escorted by her lather, the bride wore a Jovely gown of deep cream embossed French slipper satin, made with fitting corsage bodice and fully flared skirt, the back panel ol which was pleated to form a long full train. Satin flowers appliqued on tulle and let in to the train formed a most effective trimming. The bodice was made with a heart-shaped neck-ling outlined with a narrow edging of tulle, and the full leg-o'-mutton sleeves were finished with liny satin buttons. A long filmy veil of unhennncd tulle, together with a beautiful double-ended sheaf composed of cream chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, completed the bride's toilette. The bride was attended by one maid. -Miss Margery Taylor, whose picturesque frock was oi green taffeta, shot with cyclamen. Marie on princess lilies. the full skirt was trimmed with niched taffeta and circles of small velvet flowers in cyclamen tonings. The full elbow-length sleeves were likewise relieved with cyclamen Rowers and the heart-shaped neckline was finished with a frilling of taffeta and spray j of velvet flowers. Cyclamen shoes and! a bouquet in similar shades made in I the shape o.t a heart completed a most, attractive toilette. L The bridegroom was attended bv Mr W. T,. Kendall, of Feilding. and the duties of ushers were carried out by I Mr L. Hibbard and Mr A. Gibson. Mr A. E. Matheson presided at the organ, and at the conclusion of the ; marriage service the solo. "My. Prayer." was beautifully rendered by I Miss K. Blanchctt. On leaving the, church a horseshoe was presented to I the bride by her little niece. An informal reception was subsequently held in St. Paul's Hall, where' the bride's mother received the guests wearing an Air Force blue frock and coat, naw hat and accessories, and grev squirrel necklet. Her flowers were in shades of scarlet.-M is J. Taylor, of Marton. sister of the bridegroom, assisted, wearing a rust coat. hat. and accessories, with a honey gold coat, and carried a bouquet in autumn shades. When the bride later appeared tor travelling she was wearing a smart river blue (rock, coat and hat with navy accessories. riKK-'ITOW. A very pretty rvodding was celebrated at All Saints' Church. Palmcrston North, on April 19, between Ada Florence, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs R. R. Trow, of College Street, and Geoffrey William, onlv son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Pike, of Chelwood Street, Palmerston North. Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward was the officiating minister, and Mr J. Holmes Runnicles presided at the organ.
The bride, entering; the church escorted by her father, was arrayed in a smart slim-fittinij white satin frown with a high neckline, fastened down the hack with tiny buttons and ending in a long train above which a vc?l worn over the face was gathered into position by a halo of small white lilies. White satin shoes and a sheath of arum lilies completed a charming picture. The bridesmaid. Miss Betty Pike. sister of the bridegroom, wore a pretty frock of blue taffeta with a heartshaped neck, completed with two silver clips, and a full skirt edged with silver bands, lier shoes toning. So*t tulle and flowers covered her head, and her bouquet consisted of pink and blue flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr A. Trow, brother of the bride. The reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, where a large number of guests were received bv the bride's mother, who wore a blue floral frock, navy coat and hat with shoulder spray to tone. Mrs W. H. Pike chose a navy frock trimmed with white, teal blue coat with shoulder spray, and accessories to match. The happv couple later left for Wellington, the bride wearing a brown embroidered frock with matching accessories, and a fur coat, the gift of the bridegroom.
