MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Hockey Association was held last evening, Mr L. Martin presiding. It was resolved that the teams playing this season be defined as senior and junior grades only. Tho following teams have entered: —Senior: Phoenix, Broadway, United, High School, Woodville and University latter May 24). Junior: Phoenix, Broadway, United, High School. The senior competition will be played in two rounds, tho winners of the first round to play the winners of the second for the championship. The • junioi competition will bo of three rounds. Tho draw for Saturday is as follow, the games to be played at the Hokowhitu Domain. Senior: Phoenix v. Woodvillc, No. 1 ground, 3 p.m. ; High School v. United, No. 2 ground, 3 p.m. Broadway win by default from University. Junior: High School v, Broadway, No. 1 ground, 1.40 p.m. ; Phoenix v. United, No. 2 ground, 1.40 p.m. WOMEN'S COMPETITION. Tho annual meeting of tho Manawatu Women’s Hockey Sub-Association was held last evening, the chairman of the Manawatu Hockey Association’s management committee (Mr Martin) presiding. It was resolved to open the season on May 10. Hie teams entered so far are High School Uld Girls, United, and Broadway. Mr V. Turner was appointed representative on the association’s management committee.
