AWAPUNI TRACK WORK
NEW TEAM ARRIVES. (By “Spectator.”) The former Woodvillo and Foxton trainer, A. Wright, lias removed his team to Awapuni, and ho had them out working this morning. There are seven horses in the team, as follow: Chat, Raana, Haile Selassie, Game Pit, Hunting Eve, llokumai and a four-year-old by Croupier from Rag Fair. Mr G. Stead has two horses in work. Miss Leighon and an unnamed two-year-old. The course proper and iho plough tracks were used for the fast work, and both were in good order. On the plough, High Peer (.T. Williamson) and Bridegroom (.T. Searlc) rail six furlongs in 1.24. Aurora’s Star (G. 1 attersall) and Selkirk (W. Broughton) ran the lirst seven furlongs cf a round in 1.34. On the course proper, Fly-b.v-Night, scampered over three furlongs in 39 2-ssec. and Ringlcss, who followed, was not extended when running five furlongs in 1.10. Rangitikei and an unnamed companion registered 53 2-ssee for half a mile, Ronascor (G. Tattersall) and Sandy Bay (B. 11. Morris) taking 52 3-ssec over the same distance. Sqnoers (W. Broughton) and Taitaina (J. Williamson) wero companions over five furlongs run in 1.5, and Courting left half a mile behind in 53scc. Corroborco (Miss F. White) was- sent over three hurdles and jumped well. Chat (N. Wright)'- went twice round over the steeplechase schooling fences and gave an excellent display. She is a good jumper. Raana (N. Wright) went over six hurdles, jumping a bit high at some of them. The brush fence oil the course proper near the six furlong post has been removed and it will bo replaced , by a sod wall, the material for which has been placed reatfy for erection.
