Mrs S. Newth. who has been an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital. is making good progress toward* recovery. Mr (’. Rand's friends will regret lo learn that lie is a patient in the Hospital, where he lias undergone an operation for tho removal of part of a thumb. As a mark of appreciation of the hospitality given by the laduv of lho Precbvtcrian Church, a number of soldiers from lho military camp conducted the service at. the church lasi Sunday evening. Corpora! D. Scar row occupied die pulpit and about 20 nieit formed the choir. The Old Testament lesson was read by Corporal I>. Turnbull, and Corporal S. Hutchings road from Corinthians 1. chapter 13. lie also eang a solo. Corporal Srarrow preached from the text. “Who shall roll away the stone?’’ After the service a social hour was sjient and solos were sung by Corporal D. Turnbull and Trooper NV. Livingston.
