construction in Australia of three oversea merchant ships of IKXX) tons each are contained in the first report of the Shipbuilding Board, Senator McBride (Minister of Supply) said yesterday. Senator Mcßride .has directed the building of at least GO ships as a longrange objective. The first three will be built in New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia, respectively. The board foresees no insuperable obstacles to the construction oi the ships in a reasonable period.
