ADDINGTON SALE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 30. At the Addington market to-day most of the major sections declined in value, fat sheep and fat cattle in particular. Tho fat sheep entry contained a substantial proportion of southern heavy ewes, and these again cased in price by up to 2s 6d. Prime wethers, of which there were few lorward, sold at recent rates, and light export ewes showed little change. Exporters bought a few. Best wethers sold at from 27s to 365, good average 22s 6d to 265, light down to 18s. Best wethers sold at from 27s to 31s, good average 22s 6d to 26«, light down to 18s. Best ewes made 18s to 21s, tops slightly more, •medium 14s to 17s, light to 12s. There were numerous passings. In the fat cattle section, 600 were yarded, tho bulk being of very poor class. Values were easier for all hut the primest by 15s to 20s a head. Best beef made lrom 35s to*37s 6d, medium 32s to 34s 6d, rough down /to 255. A few steers sold at from £l6 to £lB 17s 6d, the bulk from £lO to £l4. Old cows ranged from £3 10s to £5. Fat lambs sold ut up to import rates, exporters securing a share. The store sheep entry was much reduced in size, and most of the ewe proportion comprised lull and failing mouthecq foi which there was a dragging sale and an easing of up to 2s a head. Strong-wool ewes and twolooths generally sold more freely, though prices were easier. Store wethers weic about a Is head dearer. The best of the store lambs brought values equal to last week’s, and mcdiocro Is less. The best price of the sale was 28s for southern 10 mney two-tooths. Fat pigs,—Both porkers and baconers of the best class were better by 2s to 3s a head. Porkers made from 34s 6d lo 58s 6d, average price nor lb, 61d to 7id, baconers, 57s 6d to £5 4s 6d, average price per lb, 6Jd to 648.

WESTFIELD VALUES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 30. An average entry of ox beef at Wcatfield met steady competition, and prices were on a level with last week’s. Cows and heifers came forward in larger numbers, and, though . quotations arc the same as last week, vaiucs in many individual cases were easier. Extra choice ox made 38s 1001 b; choice and prime, 35a to 375; secondary and plain, 31s to 335; extra prime young cow and heifer, 29s to 335; choice and prime, 26s to 2bs; ordinary cow beef, 21s to 255. Extra heavy prime steers, £l3 10s to £l4 12s 6d; heavy, £l2 15s to £l3 ss; lighter, £l2 to £l2 10s, light, £lO 10s to £lls lOd; small and unfinished, £7 lo £8 15s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £9 to £ll 15s; heavy prime. £7 10s to £8 10s: lighter, £6 5s to £7; other killablc cows,

£4 5s to £5 159. Competition for welt finished sheep was steady, with vaiucs on a par with late rates. Extra heavy prime wethers, 28s to 30s 3d ; heavv, 26s 6d to 27s 6d ; medium, 25s to 265; ‘light, 23s to 24s 6d; plain and unfinished, 21s lo 22s 6d ; extra heavy prime young and maiden ewes, 17s 6d to 18s 9d, heavy prime, 16s to 17s; lighter, 14s to 15s 6d; plain and aged, 12*. to 13s 6d; extra heavy, prime lambs, 27s to 29s 3d; heavy, 25s to 265; medium. 22s 6d to 245; lighter, 20s to 21s; light, 18s to 19s 6d.

A further firming tendency was evident in prices for prime bar-oners in an average entry of pigs.
