TERRITORIAL BALLOT
CITY AND DISTRICT NAMES. The result of the sixth ballot, containing the names of men on the register who, since the last Territorial ballot, have either attained the age of 19, and have thus become liable for Territorial service, or have attained the age of 41 and thus ceased to be liable for overseas service, are published in an Extraordinary Gazette. Because it was necessary to close the register some days in advance of the publication of the names on account of the time taken for publication and printing, the names of some reservists reaching 19 on or shortly before April 29 have been omitted from the notice. These are to appear in the next calling-up notice in about a month’s time. Included in the list are the names of a number of men who have volunteered for overseas service and also the names of some who are already serving in home defence units. The number of names in the No. 6 (Wanganui) military district, including Palmerston North, totalled 80. The following are the names of those concerned in the city and surrounding districts: Palmerston North. —W. K. Amies, A. -T. Anderson, M. Bradcock, AI. I'. Brewer, ft. Cnlhim, B. C. Davcy. N. J.
